Since founding his Internet consultation, web design, and development business a little over five years ago, Robert Thompson has successfully transitioned and transferred his personal traits, work habits, and technical skills to the field of web design and development. In addition, he has 23 distinguished years experience as a professional engineer, where his technical, project management, and communication skills were highly regarded. Robert holds a US Patent for an electronics integrated circuit packaging invention, and has published works in technical journals. While unrelated to web design, these experiences and accomplishments speak well to his ability to be creative and to effectively communicate. He has also taught math at the junior college level.

Robert earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering: a B.S. and M.S. from the University of California, Davis, and an M.S. from Stanford University. As for web related skills, these fall into three principle areas. In screen design he is proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. In the area of content development, he is highly skilled at Image ready, XML, XHTML, DHTML, HTML, CSS, SSI, and Dreamweaver. Robert's programming and scripting skills include Action Script, C++, and Unix/Linux, plus MySQL and MS Access database.

From across the office to across the country, Robert has a proven track record of understanding customer goals and expectations, communicating plans and progress, and delivering on promises. As a former educator, Robert is an experienced communicator and presenter of concepts and ideas.

Robert currently is an Internet consultant, and freelance web designer and developer, utilizing a mature, disciplined, and professional approach for a select group of clients. In addition, he has sub-contractual relationships with other web and graphics design businesses in Sonoma County.
